This process precisely facilitates hardening of the blade’s edge, while leaving the blade’s core and spine softer and thus resilient. Definitely a marker of advanced Japanese sword making technology and visibly identifiable on this sword’s blade.

The blood-red lacquered, hardwood scabbard and solid combat-grade sword fittings complement the brown Katana handle very nicely. And the hardwood, wrapped with genuine stingray-skin & real leather form a traditional and very effective Japanese Samurai handle grip.
