The American Ironwood tree is a medium sized, slow growing desert hardwood species that is confined to the south-western United States and the north-western Mexican desert regions.

It’s an extremely dense, hard, durable and heavy exotic timber, so heavy in-fact, the wood will actually sink in water. The hard wood is prized for durable tool and knife handles, weapon-parts and outdoor furniture or sculptures.
