Golden Nanmu Wood

Nanmu is medium-density, fine-grained timber with a straight inter-locked grain structure. Furthermore, it’s durable, exceptionally stable, resistant to warping, cracking, decay or insect attack, which historically made this species the lumber of choice for Imperial constructions, which included high-end furniture, emperor thrones, burial chambers, coffins and forbidden-city pillars. 

Other special attributes include a pleasant, sweet-spicy aroma while working the timber.

Today this premium-grade timber is used for luxury woodworking projects such as furniture, items of worship, knife handles, wooden spoons and other high-end items like fancy pens.
