Chinese Guandao Weapon

A powerful Chinese Guandao weapon. 

Sometimes referred to as a Guandao, these Chinese polearms are used to attack with both great range and with formidable force.

Highly versatile and refined, they can be used as a normal thrusting spear, or to chop, slash and lop with similar effect to the Scimitar sword, although with much greater power due to the leverage generated from the very long handle.

Equipped with a 1095 steel sword blade, which is a modern, highly refined, iron base-steel alloyed with a high 0.9 to 1.03 carbon content, significant manganese, and trace amounts of phosphorus and sulphur. 

1095 is one of the highest carbon content modern steels used for blade-smithing and arguably the best combat blade-making steel available, assuredly forming a very lethal foundational core to this Guan Yu weapon.

Blade characteristics include a hard & tough, reliable & durable cutting edge, along with desirable blade resilience and good elasticity, which 1095, being technically a higher carbon content spring steel, is renowned for.
