A medium to large sized, slow growing tropical-savanah tree endemic to the southern Afrotropics region.
Referred to as Motswere bushwillow by some local tribes, who attach special cultural and religious significance to the tree, as to them it is the great ancestor of all animals and people which must be respected whenever passed. The tree itself may live for up to 40 years, however a dead-tree can remain standing for many more years – a true testament to the timber’s durability.
