T10 steel, the highest carbon content steel used in sword-smithing and perhaps the best steel for Wakizashi & Katana combat blade making, is used for the core of the blade. This core steel is then forge-weld laminated on both sides with medium hardness folded steel, also a renowned Japanese sword steel.
Characteristics include a hard, reliable battle edge, which will hold its edge and stay sharp for longer than any other steel used for swordsmithing and moreover, encapsulating unmatched blade resilience and elasticity due to the advanced laminate construct.
Further promoting perfection, is the very difficult process of clay tempering the blade. This process precisely facilitates hardening of the blade’s edge, while leaving the blade’s core and spine softer and thus resilient. Definitely a marker of advanced Japanese sword making technology and visibly identifiable on this sword’s blade.
Very deadly within enclosed spaces and especially when paired with a Katana longsword or second Wakizashi.
