Molybdenum is a silvery-white transition metal, characterised with a high melting-point, exceptional strength, excellent corrosion resistance and good thermal stability. 

Primary industry demand for molybdenum is for alloy steel and other superalloy manufacture, with many other uses for lubricant, industrial and electronic components manufacture, and use as a catalyst in petroleum refining to remove sulfur.
