Choose from two premium blade, handle material and scabbard material options;

Blade option 1: An advanced Kobuse sword blade, a forge-welded laminate of hard 1095 steel, and a soft, locally-refined predominantly iron steel.

With these two steel grades, the blade is then hand-forged laminated into two separate sections, with the layout consisting of a soft steel core, wrapped with hard steel.

The purpose of this laminate is to utilize the tough, hard and durably sharp cutting edge capability of hard steel, while facilitating additional blade resilience and the excellent elasticity of soft steel. A Kobuse laminate is a sophisticated and battle-effective structural configuration, certainly forming a very deadly foundational core to this Chinese Dao sword.

Blade option 2: Equipped with a folded steel blade, which is a hammer-welded mixture of 1095 & 1060 high carbon steel, manganese spring steel, 1045 soft steel and many more smaller portions of other steels. This mixture is then folded multiple times to remove impurities, creating many hundreds of individual steel layers, finally producing arguably the best sword-making steel available.

The process and technique is renowned for smithing the finest combat sword blades, and certainly forms a very lethal foundational core to this Dao Chinese sword.

Further promoting perfection, is the very difficult process of clay-tempering the blade. This process precisely facilitates hardening of the blade’s edge, while leaving the blade’s core and spine softer and thus resilient. Definitely a marker of advanced sword-making technology and visibly identifiable on this sword’s blade.

Completed with a hardwood, or hardwood wrapped with real stingray-skin scabbard, along with solid brass sword fittings many of which are plated in real gold, and a hardwood, wrapped with genuine stingray-skin handle, forming a traditional, practical and effective hand-grip.
