Japanese Tanto Knife

T10 is one of the highest carbon content modern steels used for blade-smithing and arguably the best combat knife-making steel available, certainly forming a very lethal foundational core to this Japanese Samurai knife. Blade characteristics include a hard, tough, reliable & wear-resistant cutting edge, along with desirable blade resilience and good elasticity.

Further promoting perfection, is the very difficult process of clay-tempering the blade. This process precisely facilitates hardening of the blade’s edge, while leaving the blade’s core and spine softer and thus resilient. Definitely a marker of advanced Japanese blade-making technology and visibly identifiable on this Shinken Tanto fixed blade knife.

Completed with a lacquered hardwood Tanto sheath, solid brass fittings, and a hardwood, wrapped with genuine stingray-skin & quality-cord handle, forming a traditional, practical and effective hand-grip.

This Tanto Japanese knife, while absolutely functional and deadly, is best not used for combat, but rather suited for premier ornate knife display due to its super-bright, mirror polished blade.
