1095 high carbon steel is one of the highest carbon content steels used for swordsmithing. Arguably the best steel available for Katana sword making, characteristics include a very reliable, hard and sharp battle edge, along with excellent blade elasticity and resilience, which 1095 being technically a higher carbon content spring steel, is renowned for. 

Further promoting perfection, is the very difficult process of clay tempering the blade. This process precisely facilitates hardening of the blade’s edge, while leaving the blade’s core and spine softer and thus resilient. Definitely a marker of advanced Japanese sword making technology and visibly identifiable on this sword’s blade. 

The beautiful white, matching hardwood scabbard & handle material close seamlessly together, forming a flowing curved sword stick. The hardwood handle acts as a simple, sturdy and maintenance free handle grip, which is not only effective for combat, but also presents in a clean traditional form.
