Bill Hook Machete

Fitted with a 50Mn steel blade, which is a modern, highly refined iron base-steel alloyed with on average 1% manganese, 0.55% carbon, and smaller amounts of chromium, silicon, sulfur, phosphorus and nickel. 

It’s a high carbon steel, well known for its almost perfect balance of good blade strength, hardness, toughness, edge-holding capacity, excellent blade elasticity & resilience, with very similar characteristics to a 1060 carbon steel blade. 

The detachable handle is a high carbon tube-steel construct with a tough nylon grip, which securely screws into the blade.

Handy around the campsite, makes a very effective survival machete and a valuable bush or farm tool.
