1060, a modern, highly-refined, medium-carbon steel, encapsulating both a relatively high carbon and manganese content, along with other trace elements. It’s well known for its almost perfect balance of good blade strength, hardness, toughness, edge-holding capacity, as well as renowned elasticity and excellent resilience, with very similar characteristics to a spring steel sword blade. 

1060 carbon steel is without a doubt, one of the most versatile steels available, and arguably the best sword-making steel for a true combat sword.
