1095 high carbon steel is one of the highest carbon content steels used for swordsmithing. Arguably the best steel available for Katana sword making, characteristics include a very reliable, hard and sharp battle edge, along with excellent blade elasticity and resilience, which 1095 steel is renowned for. 

Further promoting perfection, is the very difficult process of clay tempering the blade. This process precisely facilitates hardening of the blade’s edge, while leaving the blade’s core and spine softer and thus resilient. Definitely a marker of advanced Japanese sword making technology and visibly identifiable on this sword’s blade. 

The beautiful hardwood, wrapped in real stingray-skin scabbard, along with premium intricate sword fittings complement the brown handle nicely. And the hardwood, wrapped with genuine stingray-skin & quality cord form a traditional and very effective Japanese Samurai handle grip.
