The most valuable part of any sword is its blade, with this Honsanmai laminate certainly forming a very high quality core of this fully functional and battle ready Katana.

The blade is hand forge laminated into three separate sections with two types of steel into an advanced Honsanmai laminate structure.

1095 high carbon steel, one of the highest carbon content steels used for sword-smithing and perhaps the best steel for Katana combat blade making is used for the core of the blade. This core steel is then forge-weld laminated on both sides with medium hardness folded steel, also a renowned Japanese sword steel, with excellent elasticity and resiliency characteristics. 

Further promoting perfection, is the very difficult process of clay tempering the blade. This process precisely facilitates hardening of the blade’s edge, while leaving the blade’s core and spine softer and thus resilient. Definitely a marker of advanced Japanese sword making technology which can be visibly seen on this sword’s blade.

The beautiful, black lacquered hardwood scabbard, along with the intricately decorated sword fittings, complement the black Katana color scheme well. And the hardwood, wrapped with genuine stingray-skin & quality cord form a traditional and effective Japanese Samurai handle grip.
