Axehead and tool faces are constructed with a modern DC-53 steel, which is a highly refined, iron base-steel alloyed with a high on average 1% carbon content, 8% chromium and smaller amounts of manganese, silicon, molybdenum and vanadium. Blade characteristics include excellent toughness, hardness, wear-resistance, very good edge retention and good corrosion resistance. 

Completed with a tough, modern G10 handle material, providing a longlife and effective hand-grip surface. And there’s no need for an axe sheath, because the axehead folds securely away into the handle recess. 

Also incorporating a wide-face hammer, which further functions as a tent-peg puller and bottle-opener.
