Samurai Tachi Sword

1095 is one of the highest carbon content modern steels used for sword-smithing and arguably the best combat sword-making steel available, assuredly forming a very lethal foundational core to this true Tachi sword sabre. 

Blade characteristics include a hard & tough, reliable & durable cutting edge, along with desirable blade resilience and good elasticity, which 1095, being technically a higher carbon content spring steel, is renowned for. 

Further promoting perfection, is the very difficult process of clay-tempering the blade. This process precisely facilitates hardening of the blade’s edge, while leaving the blade’s core and spine softer and thus resilient. Definitely a marker of advanced Japanese sword-making technology and visibly identifiable on this Shinken sword blade.

Completed with a natural brown rosewood scabbard, along with solid brass sword-fittings, and a matching rosewood handle, forming a traditional, practical and effective Japanese Samurai handle-grip.
