A highly decorative & formidable Honsanmai Shoto sword.
This Japanese short sword is constructed with the best possible materials and to the highest possible standards. The blade is hand forge laminated into three separate sections with two types of steel into an advanced Honsanmai laminate structure.
T10 steel, the highest carbon content steel used in sword-smithing and perhaps the best steel for Wakizashi & Katana combat blade making, is used for the core of the blade. This core steel is then forge-weld laminated on both sides with medium hardness folded steel, also a renowned Japanese sword steel. The blade’s edge is then genuine clay tempered with a visible wave Hamon, producing a clean defined hard cutting edge and softer resilient spine to absorb battle stresses.
