Choose between three grades of world-renowned steel, each with their own very unique blade characteristics;

1) Hard folded steel blade, which is a hammer-welded mixture of 1095 & 1060 high carbon steel, manganese spring steel, 1045 soft steel and many more smaller portions of other steels. This mixture is then folded multiple times to remove impurities, creating many hundreds of individual steel layers, finally producing arguably the best sword-making steel available.

The process and technique is renowned for smithing the finest combat sword blades, and certainly forms a very lethal foundational core to these Chinese hook swords. 

2) Medium hardness folded steel, which is a hammer-welded mixture of 1060 carbon steel, manganese spring steel, 1045 soft steel and many more smaller portions of other steels. Again, this mixture is then folded multiple times to remove impurities, creating many hundreds of individual steel layers, producing a very practical & forgiving blade for the sole purpose of sword training & practice. 

3) 1060 carbon steel blade, which is a modern, highly refined iron base-steel alloyed with 0.6% carbon, significant manganese, and traces amounts of other elements. 

It’s well known for its almost perfect balance of good blade strength, hardness, toughness, edge-holding capacity, as well as renowned elasticity and excellent resilience, with very similar characteristics to a spring steel sword blade. 

1060 carbon steel is without a doubt, one of the most versatile steels available, and arguably the best sword-making steel for a real war sword.
