With one of the highest carbon content ratios within the steel composition, this knife making metal will hold an incredibly long lasting hard and sharp edge, and thus will need re-sharpening far less often than lower carbon steels, such as 1060, 1045 and stainless steel.
All products are annealed (heated and slowly cooled) which allows the knife blank to be worked with minimal effort and wear on tool bits. This is of course highly desirable to knife makers and craftsman.
Key Features:
- Knife steel blanks – ideal for hunting, survival and tools.
- Pre annealed knife blank – ready to be machined and worked.
- GCR15 bearing steel – very hard steel after heat treatment, holding a lasting sharp edge.
