Hand folded in the old way, this highly refined and modern 1095 steel is naturally one of the highest carbon content steels used for swordsmithing. This combined with the ancient ways of folding, arguably produce the best steel available for Katana sword making, with characteristics including a very reliable, hard and sharp battle edge, along with excellent blade elasticity and resilience, which the process of folding and 1095 steel is renowned for. 

Further promoting perfection, is the very difficult process of clay tempering the blade. This process precisely facilitates hardening of the blade’s edge, while leaving the blade’s core and spine softer and thus resilient. Definitely a marker of advanced Japanese sword making technology and visibly identifiable on this sword’s blade. 

The beautiful hardwood, wrapped in real stingray-skin scabbard, along with the intricate dragon sword fittings complement the blue Katana handle nicely. And the hardwood, wrapped with genuine stingray-skin & quality cord form a traditional and very effective Japanese Samurai handle grip.
