A Wakizashi Shirasaya sword.
Simple in form and a lethal, highly refined Wakizashi weapon.
The most valuable part of any sword is its blade, with this T10 steel sword blade, certainly forming a high standard core, to this fully functional, Japanese short sword.
Forged with T10 steel, a high-carbon steel mixed with other trace elements, such as tungsten, manganese and silicon, etc, this modern, highly refined steel is renowned for its hardness, durable edge holding capacity, along with good elasticity and desirable resilience. It is the highest carbon-content steel used for blade-smithing, and arguably the best sword-making steel available for a true combat sword.
Further promoting perfection, is the very difficult process of clay-tempering the blade. This process precisely facilitates hardening of the blade’s edge, while leaving the blade’s core and spine softer and thus resilient. Definitely a marker of advanced sword-making technology and visibly identifiable on this Shoto sword blade.
The beautiful hardwood material, matching scabbard & handle close seamlessly together, forming a straight, small sword stick. The hardwood handle acts as a simple, sturdy and maintenance free handle grip, which is not only effective for combat, but also presents as a whole, in a clean, traditional Shirasaya Wakizashi sword form.
An impressive and highly collectable shortsword to own, and a formidable Wakizashi sword to use.
