Caping Wootz Knife

Fitted with a Wootz steel blade, which is a crucible-mix of predominantly iron and carbon-rich materials, along with small amounts of manganese, silicon, and phosphorus. The crucible-forged process produces distinct characteristics within the steel, including a unique micro-structure and distribution pattern as the steel cools, forming carbon-rich regions, which in-turn contribute to the steel’s Damascus-like patterns. 

Wootz steel is one of the highest carbon content modern steels used for sword-smithing, typically containing around 1.7% carbon and is classified as an ultra-high carbon steel and is arguably the best blade making steel available. Blade attributes include an extremely tough & hard, durable, razor sharp cutting edge, along with excellent blade elasticity and renowned resilience. 

Completed with a premium hardened maple hardwood, solid brass bolster, and included with a quality leather knife pouch, which is worn conveniently on the hip.
