The dual-use blades are made from SK5 steel; which is a modern, highly refined, iron base-steel alloyed with on average 0.85% carbon and small amounts of silicon, phosphorus, sulfur and manganese. Characteristics include excellent blade hardness, toughness, wear-resistance, edge holding capacity, and fair blade resilience.

The handle material is a tough and hard aluminium/zinc-alloy, which is highly corrosion resistant, almost as strong as and much lighter than steel. The handle facilitates convenient spare blade storage, push-button blade release and 3-position blade adjustment & locking.
