The dual-use blades are made from CK75 steel; which is a modern, highly refined, iron base-steel alloyed with on average 0.75% carbon, significant manganese, and small amounts of silicon, phosphorus and sulfur. Characteristics include excellent blade hardness, toughness, wear-resistance, edge holding capacity, and very good blade resilience.

The handle material is a tough and hard aluminium/zinc-alloy, which is highly corrosion resistant, almost as strong as and much lighter than steel. The handle facilitates convenient spare blade storage, push-button blade release and variable blade adjustment.
