Katana Sword Real Steel Weapon

Equipped with an advanced Sanmai sword blade, which is a forge-weld laminate using two different grades of special locally refined folded steels, comprised of iron, manganese, smaller portions of other metals, and a varying carbon content – of which is repeatedly folded. 

With these two steel-grades, the blade is then hand-forged laminated into three separate sections, with the layout consisting of a hard steel cutting edge, extending through the core to the exposed spine, along with two medium-hardness steel side-jackets.

The purpose of this laminate is to utilize the tough, hard and durably sharp cutting edge capability of hard steel, while facilitating additional blade resilience and elasticity with medium steel jackets. A Sanmai laminate is arguably the most battle-effective structural configuration available for real combat, and certainly forms a very lethal foundational core to this true Katana sabre. 

Further promoting perfection, is the very difficult process of clay-tempering the blade. This process precisely facilitates hardening of the blade’s edge, while leaving the blade’s core and spine softer and thus resilient. Definitely a marker of advanced sword-making technology and visibly identifiable on this Shinken sword blade.

Completed with a lacquered hardwood scabbard, solid brass sword fittings – with many decorations plated in real gold, and a hardwood, wrapped with real stingray-skin & silk cord handle, forming a traditional, practical and effective Japanese Samurai hand-grip.
