Further infused with fittings devoted to water. A decorated water Katana represents a weapon and matching persona of calm, tranquility and above all humility. It’s a weapon of the sea and water, treacherous, unpredictable and underlying with power beyond mortal man’s comprehension. 

Equipped with a folded steel blade, which is a hammer-welded mixture of 1095 & 1060 high carbon steel, manganese spring steel, 1045 soft steel and many more smaller portions of other steels. This mixture is then folded multiple times to remove impurities, creating many hundreds of individual steel layers, finally producing arguably the best sword-making steel available.

The process and technique is renowned for smithing the finest combat sword blades, and certainly forms a very lethal foundational core to this true Katana sabre. 

Further promoting perfection, is the very difficult process of clay-tempering the blade. This process precisely facilitates hardening of the blade’s edge, while leaving the blade’s core and spine softer and thus resilient. Definitely a marker of advanced Japanese sword-making technology and visibly identifiable on this Shinken sword blade. 

Completed with a hardwood wrapped with stingray-skin scabbard, along with pure copper sword fittings – with many decorations plated with real gold & silver, and a hardwood, wrapped with genuine stingray-skin & hog-skin leather handle, forming a traditional, practical and effective Japanese Samurai hand-grip. 

This Uchigatana sword saber is sharp and deadly, and is executed with superb craftsmanship. It’s highly collectable, a treasure to own and a formidable war sword to use.

• Long-term storage & care: To prevent the scabbard’s stingray-skin from drying out, regularly apply a thin layer of specific stingray-skin leather conditioner (NOT included), with a soft cloth in a circular motion to moisturize the material. Allow to absorb for a few hours, then buff-out excess conditioner.
