Custom Katana Sword

Equipped with a 1095 steel sword blade, which is a modern, highly refined, iron base-steel alloyed with a high 0.9 to 1.03 carbon content, significant manganese, and trace amounts of phosphorus and sulphur. 

It is one of the highest carbon content steels used for sword-smithing and arguably the best sword-making steel available, with characteristics including a hard & tough, reliable & durable cutting edge, along with desirable blade resilience and good elasticity, which 1095 being technically a higher carbon content spring steel, is renowned for. 

1095 steel is renowned for making the finest combat sword blades, and certainly forms a very lethal foundational core to this true Katana sabre. 

Further promoting perfection, is the very difficult process of clay-tempering the blade. This process precisely facilitates hardening of the blade’s edge, while leaving the blade’s core and spine softer and thus resilient. Definitely a marker of advanced Japanese sword-making technology and visibly identifiable on this Shinken sword blade. 

Completed with a hardwood wrapped with stingray-skin scabbard, along with pure copper sword fittings – with many decorations plated with real gold & silver, and a hardwood, wrapped with genuine stingray-skin & cotton-cord handle, forming a traditional, practical and effective Japanese Samurai hand-grip.

• Long-term storage & care: To prevent the scabbard’s stingray-skin from drying out, regularly apply a thin layer of specific stingray-skin leather conditioner (NOT included), with a soft cloth in a circular motion to moisturize the material. Allow to absorb for a few hours, then buff-out excess conditioner.
