A beautiful, handmade Shoto sword.

Not stocked, but rather made new to order, the making of this unique master sword starts from order purchase date, taking approximately 30-days to complete, after which a premium shipping service will commence.

The most valuable part of any sword is its blade, with this folded steel blade, certainly forming a deadly & very practical core standard, to this fully battle ready, Japanese short sword.

Forged with folded steel, which is a mixture of 1095 & 1060 high carbon steel, manganese spring steel, 1045 soft steel and many more smaller portions of other steels. This mixture is then folded multiple times to remove impurities, creating many hundreds of individual steel layers, finally producing arguably the best sword-making steel available, a technique renowned for smithing the finest combat sword blades.

Further promoting perfection, is the very difficult process of clay-tempering the blade. This process precisely facilitates hardening of the blade’s edge, while leaving the blade’s core and spine softer and thus resilient. Definitely a marker of advanced sword-making technology and visibly identifiable on this sword’s blade.

Completed with a hand-painted, lacquered hardwood scabbard, along with solid brass fittings – many of which are gilded in real gold & silver gilt, and a hardwood, wrapped with genuine fish-skin & quality silk cord handle, forming a traditional, practical and effective Japanese Samurai handle grip.

This shortsword is deadly, and is custom made, brand-new entirely to fine form. It’s highly collectable, a treasure to own and a formidable weapon to use.
