Display Sword

A stunning display sword.

Prominatly displayed with a great peacok artwork, this magestic animal conveyed multiple symbolic meanings in feudal Samurai culture, including religious connection to the divine, wealth and prosperity, fertility & health, and were believed to protect against disaster and evil.

Peacocks were also historically kept for their beauty, and as a symbol of power and authority, a common inclusion for imperial ceremonial events.

Equipped with a T10 steel sword blade, which is a modern, highly refined, iron base-steel alloyed with a high on average 1.0% carbon content, along with small amounts of tungsten, manganese and silicon. 

T10 is one of the highest carbon content modern steels used for sword-smithing and arguably the best combat sword-making steel available, certainly forming a very lethal foundational core to this true Katana sabre. Blade characteristics include a hard, tough, reliable & wear-resistant cutting edge, along with desirable blade resilience and good elasticity.

Further promoting perfection, is the very difficult process of clay-tempering the blade. This process precisely facilitates hardening of the blade’s edge, while leaving the blade’s core and spine softer and thus resilient. Definitely a marker of advanced Japanese sword-making technology and visibly identifiable on this Shinken sword blade. 

Completed with a lacquered hardwood scabbard, along with premium brass sword fittings – with many illustrations plated in real gold & silver, and a hardwood, wrapped with genuine stingray-skin & quality cord handle, forming a traditional, practical and effective Japanese Samurai hand-grip. 

This Uchigatana sword saber, while absolutely functional and deadly, is best not used for combat, but rather suited for premier ornate sword display due to its super-bright, mirror polished blade.
