T10 is one of the highest carbon-content steels used for blade-smithing, and is arguably the best sword-making steel available for a functional combat sword. 

Further promoting perfection, is the very difficult process of clay-tempering the blade. This process precisely facilitates hardening of the blade’s edge, while leaving the blade’s core and spine softer and thus resilient. Definitely a marker of advanced Japanese sword-making technology and visibly identifiable on this Shinken sword blade. 

Completed with a lacquered hardwood scabbard, along with solid brass sword-fittings, and a hardwood wrapped with real stingray-skin & quality cord handle, forming a traditional, practical and effective Japanese Samurai hand-grip.
