Flint and Steel

This fire striker multi-tool is waterproof, and still 100% effective even when soaked with water. These multi-tools are highly prized as an emergency fire lighting tool, and make excellent survival sense compared to a cigarette lighter or even waterproof matches for survival situations. Especially when considering a possible long term wilderness survival scenario, as each flint stone rod can each produce 1000’s of fires.

When struck with a harder material such as a flint striker, knife blade, or jagged piece of scrap metal, the rod pyrophoric composition produces hot sparks that can reach temperatures of 3,315 degrees C (6,000 degrees F). Striking both scrapes fragments off, exposing them to oxygen, and ignites them by the flint striker friction.

If you’ve stored or gathered some bone-dry tinder, this fire lighting flint tool will ignite that tinder first attempt.
