Sanmai Flower Sword

Equipped with an advanced Sanmai sword blade, which is a forge-weld laminate of two world-renowned sword-smithing steels. Hard T10 high carbon steel, and medium folded steel, which in this case is a special hammer-welded mixture of local self-refined steels – repeatedly folded.

With these two steels, the blade is then hand-forged laminated into three separate sections into a Sanmai structure, with the layout consisting of a hard T10 steel cutting edge, extending through the core to the exposed spine, along with two medium-hardness, folded steel side-jackets.

The purpose of this laminate is to utilize the tough, hard and durably sharp cutting edge capability of T10 steel, while facilitating additional blade resilience and elasticity with medium folded steel jackets. A Sanmai laminate is arguably the most battle-effective structural configuration for real combat, and certainly forms a very lethal foundational core to this true Katana saber sword. 

Further promoting perfection, is the very difficult process of clay-tempering the blade. This process precisely facilitates hardening of the blade’s edge, while leaving the blade’s core and spine softer and thus resilient. Definitely a marker of advanced sword-making technology and visibly identifiable on this Shinken sword blade.

Beautifully completed with a stingray-skin wrapped hardwood scabbard, along with solid brass fittings – with many intricate decorations plated in real gold & silver, and a hardwood, wrapped with genuine stingray-skin & quality cord handle, forming a traditional, practical and effective Japanese Samurai hand-grip.
