Equipped with a deadly folded steel sword blade, which certainly forms a high-quality and lethal core to this true Katana sabre. 

Folded steel, a crucible mixture of 1095 & 1060 high carbon steel, manganese spring steel, 1045 soft steel and many more smaller portions of other steels. This steel is then folded multiple times to remove impurities, creating many hundreds of individual steel layers, finally producing arguably the best sword-making steel available, a technique renowned for smithing the finest combat sword blades.  

Further promoting perfection, is the very difficult process of clay-tempering the blade. This process precisely facilitates hardening of the blade’s edge, while leaving the blade’s core and spine softer and thus resilient. Definitely a marker of advanced Japanese sword-making technology and visibly identifiable on this Shinken sword blade. 

Completed with a lacquered hardwood scabbard, solid brass sword-fittings, and a hardwood, wrapped with real stingray-skin & quality cord handle, forming a traditional, practical and effective Japanese Samurai hand-grip.
