Navy Officer Sword

Equipped with a 1095 steel sword blade, which is a modern, highly refined, iron base-steel alloyed with a high on average 1.0% carbon content, significant manganese, and trace amounts of phosphorus and sulphur.

1095 is one of the highest carbon content modern steels used for sword-smithing and arguably the best combat sword-making steel available, assuredly forming a very lethal foundational core to this true Katana sabre.

Blade characteristics include a hard & tough, reliable & durable cutting edge, along with desirable blade resilience and good elasticity, which 1095, being technically a higher carbon content spring steel, is renowned for.

Further promoting perfection, is the very difficult process of clay-tempering the blade. This process precisely facilitates hardening of the blade’s edge, while leaving the blade’s core and spine softer and thus resilient. Definitely a marker of advanced Japanese sword-making technology and visibly identifiable on this Shinken sword blade.

Completed with a hardwood, wrapped with real stingray-skin scabbard, solid brass fittings, and a hardwood, wrapped with real black stingray-skin & silk cord handle, forming a historically accurate WW2 Katana naval officer sword.

This master Katana is deadly, and executed with impressive craftsmanship. It’s highly collectable, a treasure to own and a formidable war sword to use.
