Shikomizue Sword

Still very much a Ninja’s weapon, it was deployed as a Shinobi sword, a powerful underground Ninja-clan practicing the dark arts of Ninjutu, and so was famously used as Zatoichi’s sword, a blind fictional swordmaster of novels and film. 

The most valuable part of any sword is its blade, with this T10 Katana blade certainly forming a very high quality core of this fully functional and battle ready Katana. T10 is the highest carbon content steel used for sword making and is arguably the best steel available for a combat sword. 

Characteristics include a hard, reliable battle edge, which will hold its edge and stay sharp for longer than any other steel used for swordsmithing. Furthermore, the blade encapsulates good resilience and elasticity, as one would expect from any combat functional blade.

Further promoting perfection, is the very difficult process of clay tempering the blade. This process precisely facilitates hardening of the blade’s edge, while leaving the blade’s core and spine softer and thus resilient. Definitely a marker of advanced Japanese sword making technology and visibly identifiable on this sword’s blade.
