Further promoting perfection, is the very difficult process of clay tempering the blade. This process precisely facilitates hardening of the blade’s edge, while leaving the blade’s core and spine softer and thus resilient. Definitely a marker of advanced Japanese sword making technology and visibly identifiable on this sword’s blade. 

The lacquered hardwood scabbard, along with solid brass sword fittings complement the highly illustrated sword theme beautifully. And the hardwood, wrapped with genuine stingray-skin & quality cord form a traditional and very effective Japanese Samurai handle grip.
