Presented in Shirasaya, this classic, straight blade Tanto is compiled with premium high-end materials, making for a prized collection piece, with full combat functionality.

Equipped with a folded steel blade, which is a hammer-welded mixture of 1095 & 1060 high carbon steel, manganese spring steel, 1045 soft steel and many more smaller portions of other steels. This mixture is then folded multiple times to remove impurities, creating many hundreds of individual steel layers, finally producing arguably the best blade-making steel available.

The process and technique is renowned for smithing the finest combat blades, and certainly forms a very lethal foundational core to this Japanese Tanto knife. 

Further promoting perfection, is the very difficult process of clay tempering the blade. This process precisely facilitates hardening of the blade’s edge, while leaving the blade’s core and spine softer and thus resilient. Definitely a marker of advanced Japanese blade making technology and visibly identifiable on this knife’s blade. 

Compiled with a matching hardwood, wrapped in real stingray-skin + buffalo horn insert, handle & scabbard, this Samurai Tanto is uniquely positioned for ceremonial use or ornamental display. And of-course, functions as an extremely deadly knife, with a razor sharp & versatile cutting and stabbing knife blade.
