The most valuable part of any sword however is its blade, with this Kobuse laminate certainly forming a very high quality core of this fully functional and battle ready Katana.

The blade is hand forge laminated into two separate sections with two types of steel into an advanced Kobuse laminate structure.

Folded steel, a renowned Japanese sword steel with excellent elasticity & resilience forms the large mass steel core, extending all the way vertically from the blade’s core to spine extremity.

Encasing this folded steel from the vertical sides of the blade, all the way down to the cutting edge, is T10 high carbon steel. The highest carbon content steel used for sword-smithing and perhaps the best steel for Katana combat blade making, producing a very hard, reliable and sharp battle edge. 

Further promoting perfection, is the very difficult process of clay tempering the blade. This process precisely facilitates hardening of the blade’s edge, while leaving the blade’s core and spine softer and thus resilient. Definitely a marker of advanced Japanese sword making technology which can be visibly seen on this sword’s blade.

The beautiful, black opaque lacquered, hardwood scabbard along with solid quality sword fittings complement the blue Katana handle nicely. And the hardwood, wrapped with genuine stingray-skin & quality cord form a traditional and effective Japanese Samurai handle grip.
