Chinese Dao Sword

Forged with folded steel, which is a mixture of 1095 & 1060 high carbon steel, manganese spring steel, 1045 soft steel and many more smaller portions of other steels. This mixture is then folded twenty-five times to remove impurities, creating over one-thousand individual steel layers, finally producing arguably the best sword-making steel available, a technique renowned for smithing the finest combat sword blades. 

Further promoting perfection, is the very difficult process of clay-tempering the blade. This process precisely facilitates hardening of the blade’s edge, while leaving the blade’s core and spine softer and thus resilient. Definitely a marker of advanced sword-making technology and visibly identifiable on this sword’s blade. 

Completed with a hardwood, wrapped in real stingray-skin scabbard, functional & beautiful brass & pure-copper fittings, and finally a hardwood, wrapped with genuine stingray-skin handle, this Dao weapon is finished in full traditional Qing Dao fashion.
