Forged with Damascus steel, which is a mixture of 1060 high carbon steel, manganese spring steel, 1045 soft steel and many more smaller portions of other steels. This mixture is then folded multiple times to remove impurities, creating many hundreds of individual steel layers, finally producing arguably the best sword-making steel available, a technique renowned for smithing some of the world’s finest blades. 

Completed with a solid Ebony hardwood handle and scabbard, and intricately decorated copper fittings, this Jian is finished in full, traditional Chinese character.
