Further promoting perfection, is the very difficult process of clay-tempering the blade. This process precisely facilitates hardening of the blade’s edge, while leaving the blade’s core and spine softer and thus resilient. Definitely a marker of advanced Japanese sword-making technology and visibly identifiable on this Shinken sword blade. 

Completed with a hardwood, wrapped with real stingray-skin scabbard, solid brass sword- fittings – many of which are gilded in real gold gilt, and a hardwood, wrapped with genuine stingray-skin & quality cord handle, forming a traditional, practical and effective Japanese Samurai handle grip.
