Japanese Folded Steel Sword

Forged with folded steel, which is a mixture of 1045 soft steel, 1060 high carbon steel, manganese spring steel and many more smaller portions of other steels. This mixture is then folded multiple times to remove impurities, creating many hundreds of individual steel layers, finally producing arguably the best sword-making steel available, a technique renowned for smithing Japanese Katana blades.

Further promoting perfection, is the very difficult process of clay tempering the blade. This process precisely facilitates hardening of the blade’s edge, while leaving the blade’s core and spine softer and thus resilient. Definitely a marker of advanced Japanese sword making technology and visibly identifiable on this sword’s blade. 

The end result is a blade with a hard, reliable and unmatched razor sharp cutting edge, along with excellent blade elasticity and resilience against damage. Both very important aspects of any true Katana and battle ready combat sword. 

Completed with a lacquered hardwood scabbard, beautiful & combat effective fittings and a hardwood wrapped with genuine stingray-skin & quality cord handle, this folded Katana is finished with traditional materials and in full Japanese character.
