Tachi Sword Saber

Equipped with a folded steel blade, which is a hammer-welded mixture of 1095 & 1060 high carbon steel, manganese spring steel, 1045 soft steel and many more smaller portions of other steels. This mixture is folded multiple times to remove impurities, creating many hundreds of individual steel layers, finally producing arguably the best sword-making steel available.

The process and technique is renowned for smithing the finest combat sword blades, and certainly forms a very lethal foundational core to this true Japanese Tachi sword. 

Further promoting perfection, is the very difficult process of clay-tempering the blade. This process precisely facilitates hardening of the blade’s edge, while leaving the blade’s core and spine softer and thus resilient. Definitely a marker of advanced sword-making technology and visibly identifiable on this Shinken sword blade.

Completed with a hardwood, wrapped with silver-plated brass scabbard, along with brass sword fittings – many of which are plated in real gold & silver, and a matching hardwood, wrapped with silver plated-brass handle, forming a traditional, practical and effective Japanese Samurai handle grip.

This two handed saber is deadly, and is executed with superb craftsmanship. It’s highly collectable, a treasure to own and a formidable war sword to use.
