The most valuable part of any sword is its blade, with this T8 sword blade certainly forming an exceptionally high quality core of this fully functional and battle ready Katana.

T8 is not the highest carbon content steel used for sword making, but it’s arguably the best steel available for a combat sword. This unique steel lies in-between very high T10 and 1095 high carbon steel.

The balance is almost perfect, producing characteristics that include a hard, reliable battle edge, which will hold its edge and stay sharp during long battle engagements. And the blade encapsulates very good resilience and elasticity, as one would expect from any blade, destined to survive violent combat. 

Further promoting perfection, is the very difficult process of clay tempering the blade. This process precisely facilitates hardening of the blade’s edge, while leaving the blade’s core and spine softer and thus resilient. Definitely a marker of advanced Japanese sword making technology and visibly identifiable on this sword’s blade. 

The simple, black lacquered hardwood scabbard and dragon themed brass fittings complement the grey handle color well. And the hardwood, wrapped with leather & quality cord form a traditional and very effective Japanese Samurai handle grip.
