Forged with folded steel, which is a mixture of 1045 soft steel, 1060 high carbon steel, manganese spring steel and many more smaller portions of other steels. This mixture is then folded multiple times to remove impurities, creating many hundreds of individual steel layers, finally producing arguably the best sword-making steel available, a technique renowned for smithing Japanese sword blades.
The matching lacquered hardwood, scabbard & handle close seamlessly together, forming a short, curved sword stick. The hardwood handle acts as a simple, sturdy and maintenance free handle grip, which is not only effective for use, but also presents in a clean traditional form.
This Shoto sword is a contemporary and busy work of combative art. It’s collectable, a pleasure to own and a top-of-the-line Japanese practice sword.
