Highly versatile, the Tachi even more so than the modern Katana design was revered as both a Japanese cavalry sabre and a formidable infantry saber. 

The most valuable part of any sword is its blade, with this folded steel Katana blade certainly forming a high core standard of this fully functional and battle ready sword saber. 

Forged with folded steel, which is a mixture of 1045 soft steel, 1060 high carbon steel, manganese spring steel and many more smaller portions of other steels. This mixture is then folded multiple times to remove impurities, creating many hundreds of individual steel layers, finally producing arguably the best sword-making steel available, a technique renowned for smithing Japanese Katana blades.

Further promoting perfection, is the very difficult process of clay tempering the blade. This process precisely facilitates hardening of the blade’s edge, while leaving the blade’s core and spine softer and thus resilient. Definitely a marker of advanced Japanese sword making technology and visibly identifiable on this sword’s blade. 

The black lacquered, hardwood scabbard along with intricately decorative sword fittings complement the black and white sword handle nicely. And the hardwood, wrapped with synthetic leather & quality cord form a traditional aesthetic and very effective Japanese Samurai handle grip.
