1095 high carbon steel is one of the highest carbon content steels used for swordsmithing. Arguably the best steel available for combat sword-making, characteristics include a very reliable, hard and sharp battle edge, along with excellent blade elasticity and resilience, which 1095 being technically a higher carbon content spring steel, is renowned for. 

Further promoting perfection, is the very difficult process of clay tempering the blade. This process precisely facilitates hardening of the blade’s edge, while leaving the blade’s core and spine softer and thus resilient. Definitely a marker of advanced sword-making technology and visibly identifiable on this sword’s blade. 

Finished with solid Rosewood handle & scabbard materials, and minimal metal-alloy fittings, this Chinese double edged sword presents clean and simple, in full traditional form.
