Master Liuyedao Sword

Forged with folded steel, which is a mixture of 1045 soft steel, 1060 high carbon steel, manganese spring steel and many more smaller portions of other steels. This mixture is then folded twenty-five times to remove impurities, creating over one-thousand individual steel layers, finally producing arguably the best sword-making steel available, a technique renowned for smithing the finest combat sword blades. 

Further promoting perfection, is the very difficult process of clay tempering the blade. This process precisely facilitates hardening of the blade’s edge, while leaving the blade’s core and spine softer and thus resilient. Definitely a marker of advanced sword making technology and visibly identifiable on this sword’s blade. 

Sword and scabbard fittings are decorated with fine, hand-carved brass artworks. The most notable of these artworks is the brass dragon within the sword’s hand-guard, which interactively moves and makes sound, whilst wielding the Dao weapon – an outstanding feature, unique only to this Piandao sword saber.
